FuelPick is operated by The AI Accelerator Pty Ltd (trading as Fuel Pick) ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy describes how we handle information when you use our free fuel price comparison website at fuelpick.com, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

FuelPick does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not track individual users.

2. What We Don't Collect

FuelPick is designed to be privacy-friendly. We do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or account credentials
  • Payment or financial information
  • Advertising or tracking cookies
  • Browsing history or cross-site tracking data
  • Device fingerprints or persistent identifiers

3. Location Data

FuelPick may request access to your device's GPS location to find nearby fuel stations. This data is:

  • Used client-side only to calculate distances and centre the map on your location.
  • Sent to our server solely as query parameters for station search and is never stored, logged, or retained.
  • Entirely optional — you can search by suburb or postcode instead.

4. AI Fuel Advisor

When you use the AI Fuel Advisor chat, your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API (United States) to generate responses. Chat messages are:

  • Processed in real time and not stored by us after the session ends.
  • Not linked to any user identity (the chat is anonymous).
  • Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.

We recommend not including personal information in chat messages, as this is not necessary for the service to function.

5. Cookies

FuelPick uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Only essential technical cookies may be used for basic site functionality (e.g., session handling if authentication features are enabled in the future).

6. Third-Party Services

FuelPick uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Mapbox (United States): Provides the interactive map. Map tile requests include your general map viewport area.
  • Anthropic (United States): Powers the AI Fuel Advisor chat. Chat messages are sent for processing.
  • Sentry (United States): Error monitoring. Collects technical error data only (browser type, error details) — no personal information.
  • Supabase (Sydney, Australia): Database hosting. All fuel price data is stored in Australia.
  • Digital Ocean (Sydney, Australia): Application hosting.

7. Error Monitoring

We use Sentry for error monitoring to maintain service quality. When an error occurs, Sentry may collect technical information such as browser type, operating system, and error stack traces. This data does not identify individual users and is used solely for debugging and service improvement.

8. Children's Privacy

FuelPick is a general-purpose fuel price comparison tool. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store personal information, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold any personal information about you, you may contact us and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
